This handpainted scarf with its angular lines is achieved by combining a simple lace pattern with garter stitch blocks. The constantly changing direction of the pattern creates the effect of an interlocking brick façade.
Easy to work in a fingering weight merino wool, you can fashion several versions of this scarf:
as a neck warmer
as a full scarf (as pictured)
or as a shawl
Directions are given for all three variations.

These fabulous new circular needles from Addi Turbo - the long respected name in well-crafted knitting needles - offer you enhanced features for both lace and sock knitting. When selecting a needle size note that while the pattern has a suggested size (see above for Recommended needle size), you may need to use a different needle size in order to get gauge. If your experience with other Ilga Leja patterns is that you have to go up or down a needle size to match gauge, then select the appropriate size.
