Though written entirely in Japanese, there are clear charts to aid the Adventurous Knitter.

Note that the title's printed name is 1000 Knitting Patterns Book, but it actually has 700 knitting stitch patterns and 300 crochet stitch patterns.

An extensive reference of stitch patterns, all charted, with the samples a mix of colour and black&white photographs. The knitting section covers knit/purl textures, cables, lace, colour work, colour and cables, colour and lacework, fair isle mosaic and more.

Though there are many stitch patterns that may be similar to those in other popular stitch dictionaries, I saw several designs that were very interesting combinations of textures, texture and colour, and the section on colour and cables (15 stitch patterns - 1 of which is shown below on the right) had some very creative designs. There are also many stitch pattern combinations that were inspiring and unique. A wonderful addition to the library for knitters who just can't get enough of the wonderful ways the knit stitch can be worked!
