I am very pleased to offer you a free PDF 8 page information brochure that I have written on Interpreting Japanese Knitting Patterns . Enjoy! Marsha White
Note: If you are unable to print off the document, but would like a printed copy with your book order, please add your request into the Special Instructions section of your order.
Though written entirely in Japanese, there are clear charts to aid the knitter.
Inspired by Cowichan knitting, this collection of sweater and hat designs uses the traditional large rovings to knit with, and gives illustrated instructions on working these 2 colour patterns on the the right and wrong sides.
The projects are all using large gauge (several strands of rovings held together) worked in striking motifs from snowflakes and geometrics to trees, birds, whales and leaping deer.
You can also view more at the publisher's web site
Each garment is fully charted with clear schematics.
NOTE: As with many Japanese garment designs, they are often only charted for one size, and the knitter has to re-calculate for their desired size.
