Free - Interpreting Japanese Knitting Patterns I am very pleased to offer you a free PDF 8 page information brochure that I have written on Interpreting Japanese Knitting Patterns . Enjoy! The theme for this issue is spring - colourful crochet, and lacy knits all with lots of charm! Some of the design details used in the 40+ designs are bell sleeves, 3/4 length sleeves, floral embellishments, crochet motifs, and bolero style shaping. Of note is the crochet motif bolero shown on the left, with its clever use of large sized motifs for a dramatic lacy look; on the right is a knitted lace pullover with an unusual patterning reminiscent of gothic windows; below left is a short cropped pullover in beautifully subtle hand-paint look yarn; and below right a mix of lace and cable for a cooler look. Also of interest are several 2-4 page specials covering knitting in Denmark (lots of photos!); high fashion runway knits; and knitting techniques shown with detailed photos. Important Info: each pattern is coded with pink hearts which reflect the level of difficulty, and beside this in a box is the page # where the pattern is. (note that patterns in the back section are not listed in numerical order, so knowing that the page number for the instructions is listed with the photo can save you valuable time.) Though written entirely in Japanese, there are clear charts to follow - recommended for the knitter who loves a challenge! NOTE: As with many Japanese garment designs, they are only charted for one or 2 sizes, and the knitter has to re-calculate for their desired size. Each volume of Keito Dama has a visual index on the back page - giving you a quick preview of the great patterns inside.
