This issue focuses on summer knit and crochet designs. Lots of short and sleeveless sweaters in light and lacy yarns, and most in a very feminine style. A few of the many interesting patterns are shown on this page - on the left a crochet shawl-collared sweater with large scalloped edges; on the right a knit lace pullover with gently flaring waist to hip pattern; below left a uniquely styled knit pullover in panels of lace and twisted stitch; and below right a lacy cardigan with a beautiful lace and texture stitch pattern running up the center and the borders, further accented with a textured motif in the center of each front. As with so many Japanese publications, lots of designs to inspire! Also of interest are several 2-4 page specials covering crochet in Paraguay (lots of photos!); knitting in New York; high fashion runway knits; and knitting techniques shown with detailed photos. Important Info: each pattern is coded with pink hearts which reflect the level of difficulty, and beside this in a box is the page # where the pattern is. (note that patterns in the back section are not listed in numerical order, so knowing that the page number for the instructions is listed with the photo can save you valuable time.) Though written entirely in Japanese, there are clear charts to follow - recommended for the knitter who loves a challenge! NOTE: As with many Japanese garment designs, they are only charted for one or 2 sizes, and the knitter has to re-calculate for their desired size.
