"I designed the Turkish Baby Sweater for Jasmin, the new baby of my friends Jane and Gareth. Jane is part Turkish so I wanted to incorporate some motifs that part of the world. I used pottery and oriental carpets to inspire me. The eight-pointed star occurs in many cultures but I felt my colour choices did give the sweater an Eastern feeling.

I used the fabulous Jo Sharp DK wool which is great to knit with and also has a wonderful colour range. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of designing and knitting the sweater from the knitted braid edging to finding the perfect brass buttons. Even darning in the numerous ends wasn't a chore because I enjoy this yarn so much."
