"The pattern is from Erica Wilson, For The Baby, Little, Brown and Co., 1991. It is the Cascading Waterfalls Sacque on page 13. The yarn called for in the pattern is acrylic baby yarn but, I used Patons' Perle Cotton instead. This jacket is now in Turkey with our friends' for their daughter Su born in June 2001. Her name means 'water' in Turkish, so this somewhat influenced my choice.

The lace is "Feather and Fan" worked from the top down. I enjoyed knitting this very much, in spite of the collar which gave me some problems initially. If my upcoming grandchild is a girl, I will definitely be making one for her!"
