From the Introduction....."These patterns can be used by any craftsperson who can work from a graph. The possibilities include cross-stitch, needlepoint, knitting, patchwork, tablet weaving, mosaic, beading and tapestry.

Feel free to modify the patterns. Repeat whole patterns across a table cloth. take one small pattern and run it along the edge of a shirt collar. Do an heraldic table top in mosaic tiles. Add a medieval creature to a plain knitted sweater. Bead a necklace from an Islamic border pattern. weave a mermaid on a towel or needlepoint a harp-playing king for a pillow. The possibilities are endless!"
