Arabesque
from Fiddlesticks Knitting

The word "arabesque" is a musical term which means "decorative musical material or composition based on florid embellishment." We think this lacy stole exemplifies the word in knitterly terms, being decoratively embellished with lovely lace throughout!

This is a garter stitch stole with every row knit. The stole is started at one end with a lace edging. Stitches are then picked up along the straight edge and the body of the stole is worked from this end to the other. After the body is completed, the lace edging is knit sideways onto the live stitches.

Recommended yarn:
2 balls Fiddlesticks Knitting Exquisite (laceweight - 50% mulberry silk, 50% merino wool) each ball approx. 50 g / 500 m

Finished size:
Approximately 20 inches wide and 79 inches long after blocking, but can be made longer or shorter if desired.

Recommended for Advanced Intermediate knitters.

Recommended needle size: 3.5 mm (US 4) needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.

Addi Turbo Lace Knitting Circular Needles
These excellent needles from Addi Turbo offer you enhanced features for lace, sock, and texture knitting. They have sharp tips making it easier to work fine stitches; the needles are coated to give just the right amount of 'stick' so you have better control of lace stitches; and they have smooth joins between the needles and cord.

When selecting a needle size note that while the pattern has a suggested size (see above for Recommended needle size), you may need to use a different needle size in order to get gauge. If your experience with other Fiddlesticks patterns is that you have to go up or down a needle size to match gauge, then select the appropriate size.
