The word "arabesque" is a musical term which means "decorative musical material or composition based on florid embellishment." We think this lacy stole exemplifies the word in knitterly terms, being decoratively embellished with lovely lace throughout! The design features several Shetland lace patterns.

This is a garter stitch stole with every row knit. The stole is started at one end with a lace edging. Stitches are then picked up along the straight edge and the body of the stole is worked from this end to the other. After the body is completed, the lace edging is knit sideways onto the live stitches.

Design Details                   

Recommended yarn: 2 balls Fiddlesticks Knitting Exquisite (laceweight - 50% mulberry silk, 50% merino wool) each ball approx. 50 g / 500 m

Finished size: Approximately 20 inches wide and 79 inches long after blocking, but can be made longer or shorter if desired.

Needles: 3.5 mm (US 4) needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.
If ordering Addi Lace Circular needles, note that the pattern recommended size may differ from the size you require to get gauge.
