Flora Cardigan
Fiddlesticks Knitting Patterns and Yarns

This slim-fitting cardigan features delicate ruffles at the lower edges and a pretty floral lacy border. A simple series of eyelets creates the illusion of soft ribbing, adding a gentle texture to the garment. Features Japanese lace knitting stitches.

The waist shaping is worked with a smaller needle size rather than decreases. It can be omitted if desired.

The cardigan is worked flat in one piece to the armholes, where work is divided for armholes and fronts and back. Sleeves are worked flat. Shoulders and sleeve seams are sewn, then sleeve caps are sewn in. An edging is worked at the front opening and neck, and buttons are sewn on. Sample shown in Size 1 and "Twilight."

Recommended yarn: Fiddlesticks Knitting Silken Merino, each 50 g ball 105 metres, 114 yds (DK weight)

Gauge in lace pattern:
20 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches

Knitted measurements at bust and yarn requirements:
Size 1: 34 inches - 7 balls
Size 2: 36.5 inches - 9 balls
Size 3: 39 inches - 9 balls
Size 4: 41.5 inches - 10 balls
Size 5: 44.25 inches - 11 balls
Size 6: 47 inches - 12 balls
Size 7: 49.5 inches - 13 balls
Size 8: 52 inches - 14 balls

Needles:
3.5 mm (US 4) 32-inch circular needles
3.5 mm (US 4) 24-inch circular needles
3 mm (US 3) 32-inch circular needles
