Florence Scarves
Fiddlesticks Knitting Patterns and Yarns

The Florence Scarves were inspired by the design of a simple scarf seen in a shop window in Florence, Italy.

The rectangular scarf is worked from one end to the other in a garter stitch and lace pattern, and finished with a deep, knotted fringe.

The triangular scarf in the same garter stitch and lace pattern is worked by casting on two stitches and increasing to create a triangular shape, finishing with a frilly edging.

Design Details                   

Recommended yarn and scarf sizes: Fiddlesticks Knitting Exquisite (laceweight - 50% mulberry silk, 50% merino wool) each ball approx. 50 g / 500 m.
Rectangular Scarf: 2 balls - 13 inches wide x 47 inches long, excluding fringe
Triangular Scarf: 2 balls - 56 inches across top and 28 inches deep, excluding frill

Needles:
Rectangle scarf: 3.5 mm to 4 mm (US 4 to 6) needles, straight or circular.
Triangle scarf: 3.5 mm to 4 mm (US 4 to 6) needles, 24" circulars.
Looser knitters use smaller needles, tighter knitters use larger needles.
