Here is Flourish of Lace spread out to show the gentle shaping of body and sleeves achieved with gradually smaller needle sizes. There is no awkward shaping or decreasing in the lace pattern.
Below left detail shows the diamond lace pattern, which begins as an openwork motif and gradually fills in as it works up the body. Below right shows the graceful lace neckline which rises up to caress the back neck. It is finished with I-cord for a firmer edge.
Gauge in stocking stitch using 4 mm needles: 17 1/2 sts and 27 rows = 4 inches
