The Flower-Poncho Poncho is a fanciful salute to the retro fashions of the '60s, but prettily updated for now. It's easier to wear than a shawl, and looks great with jeans or short skirts! It knits up fast in a garter stitch lace pattern, with two strands of yarn held in the hand together.
The poncho features flowers in a grid design. It is knit by casting on at one lower edge and knitting to the other, casting off and on again for the neck opening in the middle. This is a garter stitch design with lace shaping on one side only except for the straight lines of faggoting (see "Details" link below).
Yarn requirements and measurements:
2 skeins of Zephyr Wool-Silk (each 2 ounces/ 630 yards), and 4 balls of Baby Kid Extra mohair (each 25 grams/245 metres).
