Create a figurative garden as you knit this shawl. Stroll with your needles down the flower-strewn paths that frame drifts of leaves, ferns and flowery borders. Based on Shetland lace patterns, this stocking stitch shawl is knit from the centre outwards and then the garter stitch lacy leaf edging is added.

This shawl is knit on 3.5 mm (US 4) needles, starting from the centre and working outwards all around. Some of the Shetland lace patterns include leaf, fern, daisy and dew drops. Others are adapted for this pattern.

The pattern uses 7 skeins of Artisan NZ Merino Lace Weight yarn (20 gram skein = 300 metres). Finished size is 60 inches square.
