It features the easy-to-work Feather and Fan lace pattern, with two strands of yarn held in the hand at once. The rich and harmonious colour effect is achieved by carrying a strand in one colour throughout while changing the other strand every few rows.

The pattern includes instructions for both the Stole and Shawl so that you can knit whichever you prefer, and comes complete with the necessary yarn for one of the colourways above. We have wound special smaller balls of Zephyr laceweight for the kit, so that you don't have to purchase full-sized balls and have left-over yarn.

Yarn supplied in kit:
Fiddlesticks Knitting Zephyr Laceweight yarn:
• 2 balls base colour, each: 2 oz / 630 yds
• 5 balls accent colour, each: 1 oz / 315 yds
Approximate finished sizes:
Stole: 22 inches wide x 73 inches long
Shawl: 72 inches wide x 36 inches deep

Stole: 4 mm (US 6) needles or size to obtain gauge

These fabulous new circular needles from Addi Turbo - the long respected name in well-crafted knitting needles - offer you enhanced features for both lace and sock knitting. They have sharp tips making it easier to work fine stitches; the needles are coated to give just the right amount of 'stick' so you have better control of lace stitches; and they have smooth joins between the needles and cord.

When selecting a needle size note that while the pattern has a suggested size (see above for Recommended needle size), you may need to use a different needle size in order to get gauge. If your experience with other Fiddlesticks patterns is that you have to go up or down a needle size to match gauge, then select the appropriate size.
