Redesigned for Silk Sensation, the Venus Vest is a graceful garment with lace stripes running vertically on the body, flattering for any woman. The lace changes above the bustline to add extra interest, and the entire garment flows softly over the body.

The vest is worked by knitting the lower body from side to side without seams. Then stitches are picked up across the back and for each front bodice and worked up to the shoulders. Shoulder seams are joined and armhole edges are added. A few suggestions are given for front closures.

Design Details                   

Recommended yarn DK-weight, each ball 50 g / 115 m. Sample knit with 100% raw silk yarn.

Knitted measurements at bust and yarn required:
Size 1: 35 inches - 5 balls
Size 2: 39.5 inches - 6 balls
Size 3: 44 inches - 6 balls
Size 4: 49 inches - 7 balls
Size 5: 53 inches - 8 balls

Needles: 4 mm (US 6) or size to obtain gauge ; matching size 16-inch circular needles or set of 5 double-pointed needles
