The Flirty Ruffles Shawl is an elegant wrap featuring the very old and traditional lace pattern "Print o' the Wave." The ruffles add an unexpected and flirty touch. The shawl features Shetland lace patterns.
This mostly stocking stitch shawl is knit on 3.25 mm (US 3) needles and starts at the centre top. As you knit the beautiful wave pattern, the rows become longer until the ruffle is finished in a simple knit and purl stitch. The ruffle takes a bit of time, but makes for ideal TV watching! When you're finished, though, you'll want to be out showing off your shawl instead of sitting around the tube.

Design Details
Recommended yarn: 4 balls Fiddlesticks Knitting Exquisite (laceweight - 50% mulberry silk, 50% merino wool) each ball approx. 50 g / 500 m.
Finished size:72 inches across the top edge and 39 inches from the middle top to the bottom point, excluding ruffle.
Needles: 3.25 mm (US 3) 32" circulars ,
or size required to obtain gauge.
Optional, 24" circulars to start project, moving to 32" circulars as the stitches increase.
